Over 21,000 North Kazakhstan schoolchildren took part in the survey of the Regional Chamber of Entrepreneurs. The questioning was conducted for four years. Graduates were asked to answer 9 questions. As it was noted in the department of human capital development of the Chamber of Entrepreneurs, the purpose of this large-scale survey was to identify students' preferences in choosing professions. Work plays an important role in the life of every person and has a great influence on his condition and well-being. Researchers have shown that a well-chosen profession increases self-esteem and positive self-image of a person, reduces the frequency of physical and mental problems. Therefore, it is so important for a person entering the world of professions to make the right choice. "We provide survey data to the Education Department, district education departments, and to organizations of technical and vocational education to inform them about the preferences of graduates. These data are important and will be taken into account when forming government contracts", said Irina Toropova, an expert of the Department of Human Capital Development of RCE of North Kazakhstan region. So, what do graduates choose? For two years the professions have been steadily leading: doctors, teachers, agronomists, military officers. In 2016, for the first time, students chose the option - a businessman. 3.83% of North Kazakhstani graduates see themselves as entrepreneurs in the future. "For us, this is a small victory. If in 2014-2015 the youth did not even have an idea to choose the option - a businessman, now this has changed. In 2014 we began to introduce the foundations of entrepreneurship in colleges. Today, "Business Schools" function in all institutions of secondary specialized education. In addition, this year we have a "Young Entrepreneur School" for schoolchildren. This percentage, for us, is an indicator that our work is not vain", - said Irina Toropova. The survey also showed that every year the number of students who are going to enter the colleges of the region is decreasing, young people prefer to leave for study to other regions. Popular in 2014 and 2015 was to enter the Russian educational institutions, but since 2016 there is a decline in this direction.
